I also wanted to share another link with you, The Alliance For American Quilts. This is a wonderful non profit organization that was established to preserve quilt history. They have an awesome site with plenty of photos, indexes and quilt makers stories. They also hold several contests with great prizes and the quilts they ask for submission are quite small. The current contest, Making Old From New, requires only 16" square. You can check out their current e-letter here.
I hope everyone had a great Easter. The weather has been stellar and it's hard to stay in so it's a great time to put together some smaller to-go projects that can be taken to the ballpark, on car rides, to the beach, to the porch, etc. See you at the next meeting.

Free Pincushion/Thread Catcher Pattern
Hi everyone! First let me say I miss each of you and love the idea of this blog to keep up with what everyone is doing.
I found this website, http://www.kquilts-studio.com/welcome.htm and on the far left hand in the pink box there is a free pattern for a pincushion thread catcher. Just wanted to share and maybe it would be useful to someone.
Have a wonderful week, and try to make room for sewing ;)

Welcome to the Guilds Blog
When I was downstate for most of the winter last year, I thought how fun it would be to design a blog just for the guild. A place where no matter where you were, you could connect and not miss out on anything happening at the meetings. I also thought it would be a neat way to maintain a little history of show and tell quilts, blotto blocks, patterns and community projects . A place to showcase all the members creations. When summer roles around, this could also be a place to share what you're doing until the meetings start up again.

Blotto Block December 2009
I'd like to be able to get anyone who would like to be involved here signed up so they can blog too. You could post your own photos of what you're making or have completed, tell about something you've learned, share a link, a good recipe, a joke or just an "atta girl".
The world is becomming a techno zoo, so lets have fun getting together with not only our quilting but also learning what kind of cool things we can do through the web. If you need help, just let me know, I'll be more than happy to help you get started. For now, here's a great link to check out... just click highlighted text below...
